My Texas presents the history of the Lone Star State in a student-friendly, informal style that does not intimidate or repel young readers and works well in both classroom and homeschool environments. A special effort is made to relate events in Texas history to the broader history of the United States. Events are seen as living and potentially life-changing experiences from which we can all learn. The people whose experiences and decisions changed our state and nation also come to life. The My Texas program is excellent for homeschooling or independent study and works as well at home as in the classroom.
